Karl Albrektsson (14-6, 0-0 PFL) vs. Simeon Powell (10-1, 5-1 PFL)

Blessed with height, reach and a diverse set of skills, Powell is one of the top young European light heavyweights. The London native has stopped seven opponents and has already garnered much success in the PFL SmartCage. He showed he could bounce back from defeat in his last outing by beating Rafael Xavier by split decision, but there are still many holes in his game that need fine-tuning. Albrektsson has been fighting for 13 years, but the Swede is still only 31. Despite his youth, the mileage showed on the Stockholm product after he was stopped in the second round of his last bout in November. Albrektsson has been stopped four times throughout his career and will have to be on his Ps and Qs if he hopes to defuse the bombs in Powell’s fists.

This fight could be Powell’s breakout party. Albrektsson is one of the biggest names he has fought, and a win over the Swede could make a statement heading into the semifinals. With that said, Powell’s last two fights have caused some doubts about his potential title hopes. Xavier caught him early and nearly finished him, and that could give Albrektsson the confidence to press for an early finish.
